Wildlife Removal in Charleston, SC
Charleston's combination of historic architecture, coastal proximity, and year-round mild climate creates one of the most active wildlife landscapes in the Southeast. Monster Wildlife has been solving animal problems for Charleston homeowners for nearly a decade, from the peninsula to West Ashley to the surrounding islands.
Charleston is one of America's oldest cities, with a historic peninsula bounded by the Ashley and Cooper Rivers. Its blend of antebellum architecture, coastal marshland, and dense urban neighborhoods creates a uniquely challenging wildlife management environment.
The city's many centuries-old structures, large live oak canopy, and proximity to tidal waterways mean bats, raccoons, squirrels, and snakes are everywhere, and all of them regularly find their way into homes and businesses.
Historic homes, coastal wildlife, and year-round warm weather
Charleston's historic architecture presents wildlife removal challenges not found in newer construction. The gap between a 150-year-old fascia board and the roof deck is measurably wider than it was when the house was built. Bats exploit gaps as small as 3/8 of an inch, and raccoons have learned to treat decorative soffits and aging gable vents as preferred entry points.
The coastal environment adds snakes and water-loving mammals to the typical suburban wildlife list. Cottonmouth water moccasins are regularly encountered near drainage ditches and marsh edges throughout West Ashley and the lower peninsula. Opossums and raccoons thrive near the waterfront, where they have access to marine food sources.
Monster Wildlife technicians are specifically trained to work on historic structures. They identify entry points without causing cosmetic damage and use materials that blend with original finishes. In historic Charleston, how the job looks when it's done is nearly as important as whether it works.

This is an amazing company! They came out super quickly and repaired some spots where rats were getting in to my building. All for a very fair price! Only company I use and I recommend them to everyone!
Super grateful for Graham taking care of our bat issue! He was professional and reasonable with his pricing. Would not hesitate to recommend him.
